As a member of the HHS finance team, I work hard to fix a broken health care system. A top priority in 2020 was to secure $25 million in emergency funding for the COVID-19 virus that has sent a shockwave through our state and country.

We passed bills that are holding big Pharma more accountable for transparency and licensing large Pharmaceutical Benefit Managers that manage drug costs. They have failed our system to keep drug prices competitive with other countries.

And I authored a nation-leading bill that brought {missing something here: 'brought fees from'?} opioid manufacturers and others to better fund our communities with addiction resources. Around the country we are known as the new "Minnesota Miracle" and other states are now following our lead.

Reforming DHS and the size of this agency is yet to be completed, but accountability is paramount in the future
